Combustion system to operate with a mixture of three fuels
Soluciones Integrales de Combustion, an engineering company and supplier of equipment and services for energy facilities, has commissioned an innovative combustion system that will operate with three fuels in a chemical plant in Portugal. The installation has a mixed burner manufactured by E & M Combustion and a water-tube steam boiler supplied by Prodinco.
The particularity and complexity of this installation has been that the burner is of mixed type and can operate with a mixture of three fuels: hydrogen, natural gas and CO. In fact, it can work in the modalities of use exclusively of natural gas, or with a mixture of natural gas and hydrogen or a mixture of natural gas and CO. The burner of the manufacturer E & M Combustion is the model JBD-3500 GHC0.
For its part, the water tube boiler manufactured by Prodinco will produce 1500 KW, at a working pressure of 25 bar.
Combustion system with three fuels provides great versatility to the plant. The operation with hydrogen will allow a greater energy efficiency of the boiler and a reduction of emissions of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere, since it only emits water steam. Hydrogen is considered a clean energy and has a higher calorific value than diesel or other fuels used.
Soluciones Integrales de Combustion is an engineering company, an installer and supplier of Energy Services that is specialized in the supply, installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of ALL the elements that make up a Thermal Power Plant.
