Hydrogen Combustion System in a chemical plant
Soluciones Integrales de Combustión (Comprehensive Combustion Solutions), a provider of equipment and services for energy installations, has commissioned an innovative combustion installation that will operate with a hydrogen combustion system. It operates with three fuels in a chemical plant in Portugal. The installation has a mixed burner manufactured by E&M Combustion and a water-tube steam boiler supplied by Prodinco.
The particularity and complexity of this installation has consisted in the burner is a mixed type one and can operate with a mixture of three fuels: hydrogen, natural gas and CO. In fact, it will be able to work in the modalities of exclusively using natural gas, either with a mixture of natural gas and hydrogen or a mixture of natural gas and CO. The manufacturer’s burner E&M Combustion is model JBD-3500 GHC0.
For its part, the water-tube steam boiler from the manufacturer Prodinco, will produce 1500 kW, at a working pressure of 25 bar.
Hydrogen Combustion System
Operation with hydrogen will allow greater energy efficiency of the boiler and a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere, since it only emits water vapor. Hydrogen is considered a clean energy and has a higher calorific value than diesel or other fuels used.
Soluciones Integrales de Combustión is an Installer and provider of Energy Services that is specialized in the supply, installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of ALL the elements that make up a Thermal Power Plant. The company has its own technical start-up service made up of technicians who install the equipment and start it up.
In the service area, Combustion Solutions performs the maintenance and inspection of equipment for thermal power plants, repairs, commissioning and revamping of facilities.
