Combustion system renovation in a cardboard plant
Combustion system renovation in a cardboard plant. Soluciones Integrales de Combustión has completed the renovation of the combustion system at a cardboard factory in the Navarre region. The project is part of a strategic upgrade focused on improving energy efficiency, reducing pollutant emissions, and increasing the safety and reliability of the plant.
In this context, the company, specializing in industrial combustion, offers advanced engineering services to optimize energy efficiency in thermal and industrial process installations, achieving savings of over 12% through the implementation of technologies such as low-NOx burners, economizers, re-evaporation systems, and air preheaters (SICAPH). These customized solutions include equipment maintenance and commissioning, while simultaneously improving boiler performance, reducing fuel consumption and atmospheric emissions, and thus mitigating environmental impact.
Combustion system renovation in a cardboard plant
The upgrade work at the cardboard plant included the installation of a new Low NOx burner, as well as the implementation of automated control systems and a combustion air preheater (SICAPH), with the aim of recovering waste heat from the plant and reducing emissions (primarily NOx, CO, and SOx) and fuel costs.
The benefits of the combustion system upgrade include:
- Energy efficiency: Modernizing the equipment, especially the burners, achieves significant improvements in boiler performance, reducing fuel consumption and, therefore, operating costs.
- Emissions reduction: The new systems are designed to comply with strict environmental regulations, minimizing the carbon footprint and pollutant emissions.
- Improved safety and reliability: Upgrading the flame control systems and shut-off valves reduces the risk of breakdowns and incidents.
- Return on investment: Upgrading burners and combustion systems usually offers a quick return on investment, generally between 1 and 3 years provided by savings in fuel and maintenance, and sometimes the timeframe can be even shorter.
