Soluciones Integrales de Combustión is carrying out the installation of a bag filter and an economizer in the Xixona food industry. The equipment is aimed at avoiding the emission of solid particles into the atmosphere and improving the performance of a biomass boiler, as well as its adaptation to compliance with European regulations on emissions.

Bag filter and economizer installation

Bag filters are commonly used equipment in industrial grain and seed treatment facilities, as well as in the chemical, ceramic and cement industries. Its use makes it possible to control emissions and particles, allowing their aspiration and recovery, so that the equipment will collect the particles that are produced in the process, at the same time reducing the maintenance tasks of the installation and increasing its useful life.

Economizer commissioning

In turn, the biomass boiler installation will have an economizer developed to recover residual heat from combustion gases and raise the temperature of the boiler feed water.

The implementation of the economizer has the mission of working as a heat exchanger to reduce energy consumption in the preheating phase, thus recovering the energy that would otherwise be lost and improving fuel savings and thermal performance. Sometimes, the installation of this type of device allows fuel savings of around 10% or more, which means an optimization of the installation and entails reduced periods of return on investment.

The assembly of the two devices that is currently being carried out -the bag filter and the economizer- complement the biomass boiler previously installed by Soluciones Integrales de Combustion. Said biomass boiler has a steam production capacity of 3,500 kg for its operation with biomass. In this way, the biomass generated by the by-products of the food industry will provide a source of energy for the plant itself.
