Pistachio processing plant with air vein burner
Soluciones Integrales de Combustión installs the air vein burner of a pistachio processing plant in Albacete, Castilla-La Mancha (Spain). Thermal engineering company is currently carrying out tests at the customer’s factory with the aim of adjusting the process, optimizing results and increasing the quality of the pistachios.
The Community of Castilla-La Mancha is the Spanish region most favored by the growing production of pistachios and other nuts, due to the favorable climate with mild temperatures in winters and warm summers. Together with the communities of Andalusia, Extremadura and Castilla y León, it accounts for the largest area of pistachio cultivation and production. And this is how the demand for this dried fruit has led the region to bet on the added value of its food production and the sustainability of rural areas.
How the pistachio processing plant works
1- Reception of the pistachio at the processing plant
2- Loading the harvest into the reception hopper
3- First cleaning. The leaf winnower and destemmer removes leaves and branches from harvesting
4- Peeling the pistachio
5- Arrival of the peeled pistachios to the flotation tank in charge of separating the full pistachios from the empty ones, so that they go to different elevator belts
6- Drying the pistachio. It is one of the most important phases, since it helps to achieve optimal conservation and quality, prevents the appearance of fungi and stabilizes the properties and characteristics of the fruits.
Applications of air vein burners in industry
Air vein burners are used in numerous applications in industrial drying processes when direct heating is required. They are manufactured under design for each application and adapt to the different ducts in which they will be installed. Painting, ceramics, food, glass, process air recirculation… These are some of the examples in which our company has participated:
