Biogas combustion system in a food factory in Indonesia
Soluciones Integrales de Combustión starts up a biogas combustion system in a food factory in Indonesia. The plant uses mixed fuels, including gas and biogas that operate at the PT Global Dairi Alami complex in Java. Thermal engineering company has been in charge of carrying out the assembly and start-up process of the installation, made up of two 2,200 KW steam boilers from TPK Orometal and two industrial burners developed by the Spanish company E&M Combustion.
In this phase of the project, Soluciones Integrales de Combustión has satisfactorily completed the assembly, start-up, regulation and balancing work of the thermal equipment and systems, as well as the verification of the correct functioning of the complete system in the production process. The combustion equipment implemented in the facility includes two steam boilers and two new generation JBM 4,500-G2LO industrial burners, with a power of 450 -4,500 KW and with reduced Low NOx emissions, prepared to use the biogas produced in the own plant as fuel.
Biogas Combustion System
The combustion system is designed to operate with biogas. In fact, the burners have 5 operating modes, since from this recent start-up they can only operate with biogas, natural gas, or diesel, alone, or with a mixture of natural gas and biogas, and equally with diesel and biogas. In this way, depending on the availability of the food plant, the combustion equipment can work only with biogas or switch to a variable mixture, with an automatic adjustment without the need for technical operators to adjust the program.
The food factory is a project led by PT Global Dairi Alami, a subsidiary of the Djarum Group conglomerate, with activities in the food and beverage, tobacco and financial sectors, among others. Recently, the group has entered the milk production sector, whose demand in the country grows approximately 15% per year, according to official data.
This business initiative is part of the government line of proceeding with the substitution of milk imports, responsible for covering until recently 80% of local demand. Thus, with the start-up of the plant, production will be able to supply up to 40% of local demand.
