Biomass boiler repair, underway

Biomass boiler repair underway by Integral Combustion Solutions (Soluciones Integrales de Combustion). The boiler has a production of 4,000 kg. of steam and it use wood as fuel. 

What happens when a boiler, let’s say a biomass boiler, breaks down or doesn’t work properly?   

Our multidisciplinary technical team at Integral Combustion Solutions carry out repairs at boilers, pipes (steam, water,…), economizers…. All of them are duly approved in the welding procedures required by the manufacturers and certified by the various Authorized Control Authorities (OCA). 

Due to their extensive experience, our technical staff knows perfectly the manufacturing procedures of boilers, economizers, tanks…, and therefore performs the repair of a biomass boiler or other equipment following the original standards.

On many occasions, our people remind us of mythological characters who learned to master fire to create and transform utensils, before transmitting their knowledge to humans. In Greek mythology, Hephaestus is the god of fire and forge, but also of blacksmiths, craftsmen, sculptors, metals and metallurgy. He was worshiped in all the industrial and manufacturing centers of Greece, especially in Athens. Its equivalent in Roman mythology was Vulcan, in Japanese Kagutsuchi, in Egyptian Ptah and in Hindu Agni. In the culture of Mesoamerica, Huehuetéotl is the name by which the divinity of fire is generically known.

Biomass boilers

Biomass boilers use natural fuels as an energy source such as wood pellets, olive pits, forest residues, dried fruit shells, etc. to generate heating (by radiators, air or underfloor heating) and hot water in homes, heat networks or other types of facilities. For this reason they are considered the most ecological boilers on the market.

Biomass boilers burn the fuel from the waste (well pellets, chips, olive stones, etc.) generating a horizontal flame that enters the boiler. The heat generated during this combustion is transmitted to the water circuit in the exchanger incorporated in the boiler, with which thermal and electrical energy is produced to supply both domestic and industrial needs. There are also centralized heating systems with biomass that are used to supply heating to all the houses in a building or local network.

The main advantage of biomass systems is their sustainable energy model. It helps in reducing dependence on fossil fuels, which are much more polluting. In addition, it helps clean up the mountains and is a good system for reusing industrial waste, such as waste from the food industry.
