Installation of a boiler room for the beverage industry
Soluciones Integrales de Combustión begins the assembly and installation work of a boiler room for the beverage industry. The work will continue over the next few weeks, with start-up at the end of May.
Basque-Madrid thermal engineering company has proposed this “turnkey” project with the aim of improving the processes of the thermal treatment plant involved in the processing of grapes to obtain must and concentrated grape juice.
Thermal treatment is used to evaporate a part of the water from the juice, a concentration process that preserves the aroma, acidity and nutritional properties with a smaller volume, which facilitates transportation and storage. The juices obtained are used in the development of other products for the food and beverage, cosmetics and nutriceutical industries.
The commissioning and start-up of the facility, which will run on natural gas as fuel, will increase the productivity and reliability of the plant, as well as align it with the planned regulatory standards.
Installation of a boiler room for the beverage industry
With this objective, the boiler room supplied by Soluciones Integrales de Combustión has a three-pass fire-tube boiler with an undulating hearth, with a capacity to generate 6,000 kg of steam at a working pressure of 11 bar. Fire tube steam boilers represent a very common technology used in companies to produce saturated steam, high-pressure hot water or superheated steam, mainly in powers between 250 kg and 50,000 kg.
In this type of equipment, the hot gases generated by the combustion of the burner make a circuit in three steps. After leaving the burner, they pass to the interior part of the combustion hearth and through the different gas tube circuits. The heating of the tubes in turn generates the heating of the water until reaching the saturation temperature. One of the characteristics of fire tube boilers is their easy mode of operation and their better performance compared to other equipment.
The installation of this juice production plant will also have a JBD burner with air preheated to 100 degrees C, with the latest technology in NOx reduction, and a SICAPH combustion gas preheater. The implementation of this set of equipment, together with the accessories and pipes, respond to the same objective of reducing polluting emissions and improving the energy efficiency of the plant..
