Soluciones Integrales de Combustión has completed the refurbishment of a biomass boiler in a foof plant in Alicante specialized in the industrialization of almonds, a basic ingredient for nougat companies in the region. Likewise, the engineering and thermal services company has installed a gas filtration system in said factory, as well as the control and automation system for the equipment that makes up the boiler room in order to improve efficiency and reduce energy consumption.

The operation has allowed the optimization of the biomass boiler, which has a production capacity of 4,000 kg of steam with a pressure of 10 bar.

The food company is immersed in a strategic plan to improve its production, through a process with the aim of improving its efficiency and helping it reduce costs. Thus, among the measures aimed at achieving sustainability and using the circular economy model, the use of renewable thermal energy stands out, such as the use of almond shells as operating fuel, which allows reducing dependence on gas and reducing energy consumption.

Refurbishment of a biomass boiler

The refurbishment or updating of a boiler room is a decisive process to increase the energy efficiency of a facility, in order to regain competitiveness through updated generation equipment, reducing the excessive fuel consumption that outdated equipment often presents.

For their part, gas filtration systems consist of a system for separating solid particles through the use of filters adapted to each industrial process, which implies environmental improvement of production facilities. Gas measurement is carried out in the presence of the OCA.
