Soluciones Integrales de Combustión is awarded the “turnkey” boiler room project for a company in the agri-food sector in the central area of ​​the Spanish Peninsula.

The facility is scheduled to come into operation at the beginning of May 2024 in a grape juice and concentrate factory, located in one of the largest wine-growing regions in the world.

The thermal engineering company Soluciones Integrales de Combusción will be responsible for the complete installation of the boiler room. The proposed application will have a fire tube boiler with a power of 6,000 kg/h at 12 bars of pressure.

Likewise, the boiler room will be equipped with a JBD model hot air burner developed for this installation by the manufacturer E&M Combustión, which incorporates the latest technologies in NOx reduction. The equipment will operate with natural gas as fuel. The line is completed with a flue gas preheater, and all the necessary installations and pipes.

The incorporation of the SICAPH hot air preheater is intended to reduce the plant’s polluting emissions, as well as improve the energy efficiency of the installation, and the subsequent fuel savings.

Turnkey boiler room project in the agri-food sector

The boiler room that will be installed next spring is similar to a similar room recently installed for the same agro-industrial sector of another company, although in this case it will operate only with natural gas. Fire-tube steam boilers, also known as peritubular, are a very common technology for producing saturated steam, high-pressure hot water or superheated steam at powers ranging from 250 kg to 50,000 kg.

In this type of equipment, the hot gases from the combustion of the burner circulate through the interior of the hearth and through the different smoke tube circuits. The heating of the tubes in turn generates the heating of the water until reaching the saturation temperature.

Among the advantages of this type of boiler are its lower initial cost than water tube boilers of the same capacity and its greater operating flexibility, due to the large volume of water allowing fluctuations in demand to be easily absorbed.
