Soluciones Integrales de Combustión has changed a natural gas burner for a Mixed Natural Gas – Propane Burner in a paper industry plant. The project to change to a mixed burner is an alternative to face the impact of the high price of natural gas on the operation of industrial combustion facilities.

In this way, the paper company will be able to use either natural gas or propane in its plant depending on the cost of the fuel, since it has two independent ramps, and it will automatically be able to use one gas or the other in its operation.

Soluciones Integrales de Combustión has addressed the process of changing the natural gas burner for the propane natural gas mixed burner in a period of three days, a period in which it carried out the mechanical work, the electrical assembly tasks and the start-up of the installation.

The installed combustion equipment is a JBD 6000-G mixed burner designed and manufactured by the company E&M Combustión. It has a power of 600-6000 kW to operate at a pressure of 200 mbar, and two independent ramps for natural gas and propane.

Dual burners: alternative to the high price of gas

An alternative to the current high price of Natural Gas may be the use of Propane and Diesel gas. Indeed, the constant increase in the price of gas used mainly by the industry could be mitigated with the alternation of fuels in the same production plant. This is possible from a technical point of view with the use of mixed combustion systems.

The current high prices require immediate responses, easily affordable for those gas-intensive sectors such as metallurgy and iron and steel, paper, glass, fertilizers, ceramics and textiles, as well as food. All of them are large consumers who are greatly affected by the growing upward trend in the price of natural gas.
