Improvement of the condensate recovery facility in a chemical plant
Soluciones Integrales de Combustión carries out a new condensate recovery installation in the steam plant of a chemical factory. The operation has the objective of recovering the condensate to achieve considerable energy and water savings and improve the working conditions of the process equipment, since it is a valuable resource that contains a percentage of the useful energy generated at the beginning of the line.
The new equipment installed is responsible for the recovery and transportation of the condensate that still has useful heat so that it returns to the boiler, from the equipment that uses the steam to the boiler. Thanks to this use of condensate, the amount of heat needed by the boiler to convert it back into steam is reduced, increasing the performance of the facilities. In addition, the chemical products necessary to treat water are reduced.
Condensate is the hot water produced when steam releases its thermal energy. Condensate recovery saves energy and reduces fuel costs. It also reduces effluents and water and chemical treatment costs and reinforces the circular economy, a sustainable and critical element at this time.
Condensate recovery installation
The condensate recovery installation allows very short payback periods for new investments. Therefore, it is not surprising that plants that use steam in their processes have a condensate recovery system.
Among the advantages that a condensate tank provides is less atmospheric pollution by reducing polluting emissions such as CO2, NO2 and SO2. On the other hand, condensate recovery lines also limit vapor clouds and help prevent the accumulation of water in the ground, thereby improving the working environment of process plants.
Soluciones Integrales de Combustión
Soluciones Integrales de Combustión is a “turnkey” thermal engineering company, aimed at providing thermal and combustion solutions that improve the productivity of industrial facilities. The company designs measures to increase the performance of the plants, adapt them to environmental regulations and carry out proactive maintenance and revamping of the facilities, so that significant savings are achieved in materials, downtime and energy consumed.
