Industrial boilers upgrade in progress. Towards a second life
Industrial boilers upgrade in progress. Soluciones Integrales de Combustión, a company focused on providing turnkey engineering services for energy installations as well as the supply of equipment, has removed a boiler from a plant in Córdoba for its repair and subsequent transfer to a factory in the paper sector in Huelva.
This boiler has a steam production capacity of 8,000 kg. Its second life will begin after a first repairing phase, which Soluciones Integrales de Combustion will carry out at its Artea plant. The next step will consist of assembling said boiler at its new destination, together with a new burner and a SICAPH combustion air preheater, which will significantly increase the boiler’s performance.
SICAPH Combustion Air Preheaters
SICAPH combustion air preheaters are part of the company’s launch strategy for new combustion equipment, based on its experience to improve the energy efficiency of thermal and steam installations.
This device is responsible for recovering the heat from the exhaust gases of the boiler aimed to increase the temperature of the combustion air of it. Its objective is to heat the air that is sent to the home for combustion, taking advantage of part of the heat contained in the fumes before they waste their potential at being eliminated when they reach the chimney, thereby also generating polluting emissions. The heat thus recovered returns to the hearth and is recirculated to the hearth along with the combustion air, which represents a substantial economy and an increase in performance, by reducing fuel consumption.
Among the advantages of SICAPH preheaters, in addition to allowing to take full advantage of the heat of the process gases, is the elimination of corrosion in the water circuit and its use with all types of fuels, from diesel or natural gas to biomass, biogas and hydrogen.
Industrial boilers upgrade
Industrial boilers upgrade aim to improve its efficiency. This operation allows not only to reduce energy costs but also to reduce the carbon footprint. The upgrade technologies make it possible today to obtain more efficient boilers, with a reduction of pollutants in their operating process, especially NOx or nitrogen oxide, by upgrading the sizing of the plant to their real needs, to adapt to changes that can occur in the industrial process or to the modification of the installation needs.
Soluciones Integrales de Combustión offers its customers the possibility of incorporating second-hand boilers and burners, fully revised by their technicians, guaranteed and commissioned to respond to the demand of the plant. Likewise, the incorporation of innovative complementary combustion systems, with burners with Low NOx heads and new generation preheaters, allow to optimize the entire process and turn the plant into an ecological project.
